D. Craig Winn - President & CEO

Mr. Winn is President and CEO of Applied Technologies, Inc. Prior to joining ATI, Mr. Winn was a strategic automotive consultant specializing in issues related to the OEM/Tier One strategic business interface.

He was President of North American Engineering and Assembly operations for Magna Steyr, a subsidiary of Magna International.

Additionally, he has spent 26 years in OEM product development. His most recent OEM position was with DaimlerChrysler Corporation as Vice President of Jeep® platform engineering.

His automotive career began as a chassis product development engineer with Ford Motor Company. He designed and developed Light Truck suspension systems for Ford Motor and for American Motors. He also established a Vehicle Dynamics Laboratory and the associated evaluation and test procedures for American Motors. During his time in the industry, he has held a variety of engineering and management positions with Ford Motor Company, American Motors Corporation and Chrysler Corporation.

Mr. Winn is a mechanical engineering graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees. He also holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University and he attended the University of Michigan Executive Program.


Michael Ankney - Program Director

Mr. Ankney has over 15 years design and engineering experience with Applied Technologies. He leads ATI's technical sales efforts as Project Manager.

He joined ATI in 1991 from Owens Illinois , where he worked with quality assurance processes. His expertise includes program management, quality assurance methodology, mechanical and electrical design and engineering, DFM, and all major design and engineering software.

Mike holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Siena Heights University as well as a engineering and design degrees from the University of Toledo .


Douglas Kiefer - Chief Engineer

Mr. Kiefer is Applied Technologies' Chief Engineer in charge of Engineering Analysis.

Doug brings over 22 years of engineering experience. He joined ATI in 1993 after nine years with ARES Inc. and Teledyne. Doug is an expert in the evaluation of an array of complex systems and designs. His vehicle experience includes most physical systems including suspensions, transmission and steering. Doug's non-vehicle experience includes engineering design and evaluation of advanced artillery; launch systems, turbine engines as well as other highly complex and dynamic systems and structures. He has a long record of successfully resolving complex and difficult technical and engineering problems.

Doug earned Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo.


Franklin G. Keller - Chief Engineer

Mr. Keller has over 19 years of design and engineering experience and over 16 years with Applied Technologies. He is ATI's Manager of Engineering Services and leads the company's engineering support activities.

He joined ATI in 1990 after a career with the U.S. Army. At Davison Crane & Conveyor, Frank was responsible for design and fabrication of industrial material handling systems. In addition to his leadership skills, Frank's expertise includes all major design software packages, automotive chassis and body design, engineering, and program management.

Frank earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Toledo and holds two degrees in drafting and design also from the University of Toledo.


Thad J. Tibbetts - Director of Engineering

Mr. Tibbetts has over 15 years design and engineering experience. He is ATI's Manager of Engineering Programs and is responsible for leading complex engineering projects for ATI clients.

He joined ATI in 2006. Thad's career includes engineering leadership responsibilities with top automotive, industrial, and consulting organizations, including Lear Corp. and Roush Industries. He is a gifted technical and product design expert. Thad is knowledgeable and experienced with all major engineering software packages as well as most automotive manufacturing processes.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with High Honors from Michigan Technological University .
